The IPWEA-QNT Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals, teams, and organisations working across the public works and infrastructure sector. Presented annually at the gala dinner during our Annual Conference, the awards recognise innovation, leadership, and excellence in project delivery, technical services, asset management, and community outcomes. Open to councils, consultants, contractors, and other public works stakeholders, the awards provide an opportunity to showcase best practice and raise the profile of high-performing initiatives across Queensland and the Northern Territory.

With categories spanning a broad range of disciplines, the awards acknowledge both large-scale infrastructure projects and smaller, community-focused initiatives. In addition to project-based categories, the awards also honour individual excellence through categories such as Engineer of the Year, Emerging Leader, and Woman in Public Works. Finalists and winners receive wide recognition within the sector, helping to promote continuous improvement, professional pride, and greater awareness of the vital role public works professionals play in shaping resilient, liveable communities.
