At IPWEA-QNT, we are committed to equipping public works professionals with the tools, knowledge, and guidance they need to deliver high-quality, sustainable infrastructure. Our suite of technical resources supports informed decision-making, fosters professional capability, and promotes best practice across all stages of infrastructure planning, design, and delivery. Developed in collaboration with government, industry experts, and practitioners, these resources are tailored to meet the specific needs of local and regional councils in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Central to our offering is the Knowledge Centre, a curated hub of reference materials and technical insights. Subscribers to our Public Works Technical Subscription gain access to a wide range of up-to-date technical publications and design manuals, ensuring they remain informed and compliant with evolving standards. We also support the professional development of engineers through our RPEQ Assessment service, which assists candidates in achieving registration under Queensland’s Professional Engineers Act.

IPWEA-QNT plays a leading role in supporting data-driven asset management through ADAC (Asset Design As Constructed). ADAC is both a business process and a national data standard, enabling consistent, accurate, and machine-readable asset data capture and transfer via XML. Councils and infrastructure owners use ADAC to streamline asset handover processes and improve the integrity of asset information across their networks.

Our technical library also includes key infrastructure design resources such as the Queensland Urban Drainage Manual (QUDM), Street Design Manual, Supervisors Handbook, and the Temporary Traffic Management Toolkit. For rural and regional practitioners, we offer practical guidance through the Lower Order Road Design Guideline (LORDG) and the Resilient Road Infrastructure Guide (RRIG), which promote context-sensitive, disaster-resilient infrastructure solutions.

To complement our manuals and guidelines, we provide access to essential standards that ensure consistency and quality in design and documentation. These include Standard Drawings, CADD Standards, and Survey Standards, which support the technical accuracy and uniformity of infrastructure projects. Each resource listed on this page links to a dedicated section where you can learn more, download documents, and explore related training opportunities.
