The Queensland Urban Drainage Manual (QUDM) is an engineering guideline that addresses the technical, legal, regulatory and environmental aspects of effective drainage systems. It provides details of appropriate design methods and computational procedures and covers both hydrologic and hydraulic procedures.
The Queensland Urban Drainage Manual (QUDM) is an engineering guideline that addresses the technical, legal, regulatory and environmental aspects of effective drainage systems. It provides details of appropriate design methods and computational procedures and covers both hydrologic and hydraulic procedures.
This workshop presents an overview of the fourth edition (2016) of QUDM. Discussion is provided on each chapter, and includes specific dialog on updates from the previous edition (2013) of QUDM.

This course has been designed for workers involved in technical planning and design of major and/or minor drainage systems that impact on: urban planning and development; asset management and infrastructure development; environmental considerations; and community expectations.

Participants will gain a practical understanding of QUDM that will:
- encourage uniformity in urban drainage design practices throughout Queensland
- provide information on current best practice urban drainage management, with the exception of water quality management, which is addressed within other publications.
- improve Queensland’s resilience to severe storms and climate change through the proper design and management of urban drainage systems.

Steve is a civil engineer with significant experience in the fields of stormwater management, hydrology, hydraulics, flood risk assessment and water quality treatment. Steve is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng) and is a senior engineer at Storm Water Consulting.
Jack is a civil engineer with expertise in the fields of stormwater management, hydrology, hydraulics, flood risk assessment and water quality treatment. Jack is a senior engineer at Storm Water Consulting.
