These memorials bring people together on Anzac Day but also remind us throughout the year that lives were lost so that we may enjoy freedom. Our thanks to the contributing councils for the 11 featured memorials this year.

Every Community Needs an Engineer

Engineers unite us and this month we celebrate this with the Queensland Country Bank Stadium featured for May in the Every Community Needs an Engineer (ECNE) calendar.

The horseshoe-shaped cantilever roof inspired by the tropical pandanus plant provides shading for 75% of seats, with generous overhangs over the concourse and main entry. Sports lighting is incorporated into the stand roofing eliminating the need for light towers. Patrons are able to walk the 600m circumference of the stadium without stairs.

Learn more about the cultural precinct on PW-TV, 4 May with Danny Lynch. Register online.

To support our monthly ECNE campaign, please share information including videos, media releases etc on your projects that unite communities for the globally recognised IPWEAQ Knowledge Centre. Please send content to Lexy Rhode, Events Coordinator.

Submit a nomination for the 2022 Excellence Award! The awards program highlights the projects, people and employers who deliver exceptional outcomes for Queensland communities. Anyone involved in the delivery of a project including contractors, consulting firms, local and state government agencies may nominate. Nominations close 24 June 2022.
