 Mark Babister | Managing Director | WMA Water 

Mark has over 30 years of experience in water engineering studies. He takes an active role in the profession being a past Chair of the Water Engineering Panel for the Engineers Australia (Sydney Division) and the National Committee on Water Engineering. He was a member of the Steering and Technical Committees that oversaw the updating of Australian Rainfall & Runoff.


Matt Bradbury | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

    

Matt has practised in both Australia and the United Kingdom. He is an infrastructure, construction and engineering lawyer who has advised on civil, building, mechanical, mining and structural projects in each state and territory of Australia and throughout South East Asia. Matt advises on all aspects of construction, infrastructure and major engineering projects where he works side by side with his clients and their external consultants to successfully deliver their projects. Matt’s technical knowledge and experience has resulted in him being regularly engaged as a speaker on construction law for both client workshops and industry conferences. Matt is also a guest lecturer at The University of Queensland in the Engineering Faculty.


 Karl Christensen | Employment Relations and Safety Legal Adviser | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

  

Karl is a member of McCullough Robertson’s Employment Relations and Safety Team who advises on work health and safety (WHS) matters in a range of industries. He is involved in defending a number of prosecutions by the independent WHS Prosecutor and regularly provides front end WHS compliance advice. Prior to his legal career, Karl was a WHS Manager involved in several major public infrastructure projects across Brisbane.


Terry Clark | Principal Engineer | Director | Topo Group

BEng (Env.) (Hons), RPEQ, CPESC, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) Director of IECA Australasia. Terry is an Environmental Engineer with over 18 years direct experience in the area of soil and water management, specifically erosion and sediment control.


 Chris Cleary | Civil Engineer | Central Downs Civil

Chris is a senior engineer with 32 years of experience in planning and delivery of road surfacing, construction, pavement rehabilitation and maintenance works, including unsealed road management.


 Liam Davis | Partner | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

Liam is a dedicated native title and cultural heritage specialist with extensive experience advising on native title and cultural heritage issues for some of the largest projects in Australia. His hands-on industry experience is broad, ranging from government to infrastructure providers, resources and renewable energy proponents, property developers, Traditional Owners, and the food and agribusiness industry.

Recognised extensively for his work in this area, clients commend Liam’s ability to work with Traditional Owners and proponents alike, helping them navigate through the complex regulatory requirements, identifying key areas of risk, and providing commercial and practical advice that assists with the on-time delivery of projects. Liam understands the need for swift, accurate and commercial advice having previously worked in-house for two large corporates.


Cameron Dean | Partner | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

   

Cameron has significant experience in employment and industrial law matters in the public sector, with extensive experience dealing with issues in both blue and white collar aspects of public sector operations. Cameron also heads up the Workplace Health and Safety Team and has specialist skills in dealing with health and safety matters.

Lowanna is a highly engaging facilitator and coach who delivers dynamic, embodied, and challenging learning experiences to facilitate insight and growth in both face to face and virtual environments. With a background in the Creative Industries, Lowanna draws on over 25 years’ experience as an educator, facilitator, program designer and coach to create learning experiences that help individuals and teams to collaborate, learn and grow.


Tosca Goldberg | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

Tosca practices in McCullough Robertson’s Construction and Infrastructure team and provides advice in relation to the resolution and avoidance of building and construction disputes. She has been involved in the conduct of disputes on a range of civil, mechanical, resources and renewables, and commercial projects. Before being admitted as a lawyer in Queensland, Tosca practiced as a civil engineer (RPEQ) with previous experience as a site and project engineer on various projects.


Dr Tim Heldt | Director | Osbourne Consulting Engineers

Tim’s career spans a range of engineering disciplines, including rail, mining, construction, asset management, research, and development, applied research, and education. Highlights of his career include instrumentation of the Church Street bridge during works in the 90s, remote monitoring of a bridge in NZ and development of health monitoring guidelines for Transit NZ in the same era. Subsequently, he project managed the development of Australia’s first fibre composite bridge, and went on to be technical advisor via FCDD for Australia’s first fibre composite bridge on a road network – installed in NSW.


Phil Hunt | Director/Principal | Road Engineering Services

Phil’s baseline engineering skills come from over 35 years of experience in the road design and construction industry. He has extensive experience in the concept, planning, design, construction, maintenance and asset management of roads and bridges.


Graham Jordan

Graham has over 45 years’ experience working on the planning, design and management of local government infrastructure for Queensland Main Roads, Esso Australia, Marathon Petroleum, Moreton and Ipswich Council’s and consulting. As a consultant Graham has specialised in asset management, asset systems, asset data capture, asset management plans and programme development. Graham is at the forefront of the implementation of Asset Management within local government, to improve the delivery of infrastructure services.


Dr Neal Lake | Technical Director | Osborn Consulting Engineers

      

Neal has an extensive background in design and assessment of a variety of structural assets such as bridges, rail, marine, and heavy industrial.

His PhD in 2001 was Evaluating the health of bridge structures, where he utilised a number of algorithms and simulations to evaluate large datasets of bridge responses to form an opinion of the structure’s behaviour and detect overloading and multiple presence events. He has also undertaken development of bespoke instrumentation systems, including sensors and acquisition systems for short- and long-term monitoring. With experience in proof loading, behavioural testing, dynamic load testing and long-term heath monitoring, Neal has been involved in the testing of over 60 bridge structures throughout Australian and overseas.


 Rodney Moss | Executive Civil Designer | Harrison Infrastructure Group

Rod Moss has gained wide experience in infrastructure design and municipal engineering nationally and internationally. Rodney has in depth understanding of all aspects of road and drainage design. His experience also extends to GIS/Spatial Analysis, hydraulic installations including detention basins, sewerage collector networks and treatment plants. Rod has over 40 years’ experience in multidisciplinary projects with 23 years based in South America, where he also managed his own service provider company.


Rachel Oost | Lawyer | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

Rachel is a lawyer in the Construction and Infrastructure Team specialising in ‘front end’ work including contract negotiations and composing contracts for project delivery for building and tendering, procurement and approvals. Rachel has in-depth knowledge of construction licencing and approval requirements across all states including Victoria and Queensland.


John Patane | Patane Civil

 

John Patane is a chartered and registered professional engineer with 39 years’ experience ranging from quarrying (shotfiring, laboratory testing, various plant operator (grader, excavator, end loader, HC licence) quarry manager), geotechnical engineering, project management for both road asset owner and contractor roles, specification development, training and failure reviews for buildings and roads.


 Alex Power | Special Counsel | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

   

Alex specialises in construction claims dispute resolution. He acts for principals, contractors and superintendents. He provides advice for the duration of construction contracts including disputes arising regarding payment, time, or the scope or quality of work. Alex has 17 years experience in litigation and has acted in many Supreme Court proceedings for principal and contractor clients. 


 Sean Quilty | Co-Founder | Quilty Engineering Hub

Sean is a Chartered Civil Engineer with 19 years of experience across diverse sectors. A 2024 QLD Nominee for Engineers Australia’s Professional Engineer of the Year, he leads Technical Excellence, Leadership, and Innovation at Pitch Black Group. Sean is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients while mentoring his team and promoting industry best practices. A strong advocate for value engineering, collaboration, and innovation, Sean has led initiatives in process improvement, automation, and staff development. As a long-standing TAFE Lecturer and Committee Member, he helped shape the Associate Degree of Civil Engineering and was named TAFE QLD Brisbane’s Educator of the Year in 2019. To address industry training gaps, Sean co-founded Quilty Engineering Hub, delivering practical, career-focused programs in partnership with professionals, consultancies, and government bodies.


Michael Rochester | Partner | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

  

Michael practices in project delivery for government and in the resources and construction industries. With 30 years’ experience, he is known for his industry knowledge and pragmatic approach which he brings to major projects. He has an intimate knowledge of all forms of project delivery methods and their risks and benefits.


Joshua Seskis | Structural Engineer | Osborn Consulting Engineers

     

Joshua Seskis is an RPEQ structural engineer with 10 years’ experience in the inspection and management of structural roading assets. This experience extends to personally conducting routine, condition, emergency, and post disaster event inspections and engineering investigations. He has provided direct support and guidance to state road authorities, being involved with the writing of two state manuals. He has authored several Austroads guides on the topics of heavy vehicle access to structures, assessment of bridges, and management of roading assets.


Dan Sullivan | Founding Director | Solutions in Transport

Dan has over 30 years of industry experience across academia, government and the private sector in Australia and the UK. His ongoing involvement in the temporary traffic management industry has him recognised as an industry specialist. Dan was Project Manager for development of the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management and initiated a program for nationally harmonised training, industry registration and company prequalification. He provides ongoing technical support to State, Territory and Local Governments and to industry. He developed the QLD Traffic Management Design course.


Paul Timson | Reid Construction Systems

     

Paul has over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, holding various engineering and technical roles with manufacturers of innovative construction products and systems. His expertise spans civil, commercial, and industrial projects across Australia. Currently employed as a structural engineer at Reid™ Construction Systems, Paul specialises in engineered load transfer and joint systems for concrete slab-on-ground applications, as well as concrete reinforcement, anchoring, fastening, and fixing technologies.


Ben Turnbull | Senior Associate | McCullough Robertson Lawyers

As an experienced project approvals lawyer with particular expertise in project development issues, Ben is a strategic adviser on native title and cultural heritage matters, regularly advising on compliance issues and negotiating native title and cultural heritage agreements with various Aboriginal groups. He has experience advising clients in relation to a range of native title and cultural heritage issues, including on some of Queensland’s largest mining, petroleum, renewables and infrastructure projects. His experience across these industries, and on all aspects of project approvals, enables him to give practical and strategic advice to clients.
